DIAMAS was established in 2020 by founder and CEO Christopher Jansen.
Christopher Jansen Founder Story
My journey began over three years ago myself and two
friends were tasting whiskey out of old-fashioned tumblers, testing out different whiskey stones and we were shocked at the lack of cooling performance.
They just didn’t stay cold for long enough, and what made it even worse was that clunky
feeling from the stones sliding around when drinking. It really brought to light on the fact that there was a need for innovation.
Unfortunately, along the journey of building DIAMAS my good friend and business partner
decided he no longer wanted to embark on this very challenging journey with me, which caused a definite set back in the growth aspects of the company.
Before we began this journey, we felt it was important to look back into history to discover and understand where luxury lifestyle began.
We fell onto the archives of ancient Rome's lifestyle and principles; these forged
the way of DIAMAS. A future representation of convivium (Latin: for “living
together”) also known as party social ritual in the Roman world.
These dinner rituals were held in residences with attendees from a small group of friends, family and business associates. If you’re like me, then you’ll know there’s no
better way to spend an evening than around the table, with good people, loads of food, drinks and laughter.
My vision is to create a whiskey and fine spirits empire that drives economy. A future representation of Rome’s luxury lifestyle, if Rome was to have never fallen.
Our goal when we began was to look back into history to discover and understand where luxury lifestyle began.
The archives of ancient Rome's lifestyle and principles, forged the way of DIAMAS. A future representation of convivium (Latin: “living together”) know as party social ritual in the Roman World.
These dinner parties were held in residences with attendance from a small group of friends, family, and business associates, though they were still designed to be extravagant and impressive.
An upper-class (Latin: "triclinium" known as "three-couch room," would often have many elegant elements such as floor mosaics, sculptures or other pieces of art. Displayed amongst a banquet and wine, opulent table and drinksware were the centre piece of the ritual.
For us, the colour of significance, due to the high costand intensive production, produced from the mucus of several species of Murex snail. Rome passed a sumptuary law that declared only the elite of the Roman Empire could wear a garment of so decedent a color. Estimated 8500 Murex snails to make enough dye for a single garment, one pound of dye costing 150,000 denarius equivalent to 15,000 sterling in current times. Making Tyrian Purple the choice of colour to represent Diamas.
The curious objects that have bewildered archeologists for centuries. Greek for 12 faces, the Dodecahedron is not a natural shape, Roman “dodecahedra” date from the 2nd to 4th centuries AD. The Dodecahedron geometry has been intergrated at the heart of our brand, and the shape of choice due to it's unique look, ergonomics and elusive history.
We specialise in original design production across our entire product range, ensuring design ergonomics with genuine scentific performance.
